Underground Storage Tanks at Dean's Tank, Inc.
Everyone here at Dean's Tank, Inc., from the service professionals to the office staff, is dedicated to exceeding your expectations.
Our average annual tank removal numbers are higher then most companies will do in their whole duration. We take great pride in this and will always do our best to get the job done safely and correctly.
We try to check out every tank to avoid unforseen incidents and accessibility issues. If under ground utilities are present we will call the appropriate services and city officials for marking. In some cities permits are not required, we have worked with all 170 different municipalities in the metro area and will contact them, if needed.
Most residential tanks can be removed with a Bobcat and backhoe attachment. We’ve found it’s better to bring in a smaller piece of equipment and take a little more time. Bringing in a large tractor or track machine will just make more damage and there is no sense adding to the price of the job by expensive landscape restoration.
Once the tank has been removed we backfill and compact the cavity with the excavated soil bring in soil to make up for the displacement of the tank. In most scenarios we bring in black dirt for grass and garden replacement, if under concrete or asphalt we will bring in the appropriate base. If you have any concerns please let us know, we can haul in any material needed.
If the tank is found to have leaked we have environmental contractors, which we work with, that can help you. It’s not common, but something to be aware of and prepared for. The state has programs to offset the cost, so it shouldn’t be a financial burden to be concerned about.
Finally we will haul off and dispose of the tank, usually it will just be taken to a recycling facility.
With bigger tanks we will bring in a machine that will safely and efficiently do the job.
We also reinstall tanks and piping to accommodate our customers. Please give us at least 40 days to order tanks and do required notifications with the state, county and city.
